4 Kinds of Food to Abstain for Speedy Weight Loss
Sunday, September 28th, 2008Losing weight is easy if you adopt a proper and systematic way to go about doing this. It is not as tough as most people think at all. The reason why most people failed at losing the weight that they desired is because they adopted “fad diets”. These types of diet plans may help you to lose weight quickly initially but once you have reverted to your normal lifestyle, you will gain back all the weight that you lost. And at times, you might even get a “bonus” as well. In order for you to have an effective weight loss program, plan it with a long-term objective in mind rather than short term goals. Below I will show how you can go about your weight loss program with the long-term objectives in mind.
1. Processed and Starchy foods are a big no no: You know what, most of the starchy foods available there are rich in sugar. Same is the case with processed food packages. Sugar converts into glucose quickly and while a part of glucose is used to produce energy, most of it is deposited in your body as fat. Foods such as cakes, chocolates, pizzas, white rice should be avoided at all costs! You need to replace these foods with nuts, grains, whole grain wheat, legumes, etc.
Avoid eating at fast food restaurants. Their menus consists of food with very high starch contents. Constantly eating at fast food restaurants is a sure way to gain weight.
2. Say no to alcohol: Alcohol is not your friend. The sooner you realize it, the better. Alcohol is rich in calories, so the more you drink it, the fatter you become. Same is the case with beer. Soda should also be avoided because it is rich in carbohydrates!
3. Eating smallish but more frequent meals. We have always taken our meals 3 times a day. So instead of doing that, have more meals but in smaller portions. This will help your body burn the calories more effectively and efficiently. In addition, when you take your meals in this way, you will also help your body maintains a high metabolism rate constantly. Through this way, slowly your body will lose weight as all the excess glucose are burnt away.
4.Abstain from Soft drinks. Soft drinks are just water mix with sugar and flavorings. They are what we term as “empty calories”. If you are not the exercising type, the more that you should avoid drinking soft drinks. Because of the high sugar content, by just drinking a single bottle of soft drinks, to get rid of the calories, you need to exercise for 30 minutes at the treadmill just to burn away them. Imagine if your daily consumption of soft drinks are three to four bottles daily!
