Most people will agree that diets don’t work. For the most part a person will work very hard to stay on a diet, then gain the weight back as soon as they go off the diet. When a change in eating habits is not made, a diet is just a temporary fix for permanent weight loss. There are a couple of very easy ways to create a program for sustainable change from a personal fitness trainer East Bay.

A majority of people have weight issues. For most people who eat meals between snacks there is little or no regular exercise in their lives. And, when there is no diet and lots of calories going into the body, there is nowhere for the calories to go except for the obvious problem areas many people have.

The easy tip involves eating. A simple and easy change that won’t require a lot of effort is to start eating five meals a day. The difference in this type of eating is that this is five small meals instead of three big meals. It will be easy to make the two meals you are adding to your diet healthy foods because you aren’t use to eating five times a day. The new meals will be the beginning of your healthy choice change.

The next tip involves changing the number of calories you are eating at a sitting. During meals most people eat off of a dinner plate. There are other plates in a dish set that include a salad plate, a dessert plate, and a saucer. While most people have a really hard time reducing their intake of food, this tip will not involve actually “reducing” your intake.

By creating the same look on a salad plate, your brain will think you are eating the same amount of food. You will feel full and, even though the amount of food has been reduced, you will not get hungry. The brain doesn’t distinguish between the plate sizes, it only uses the visual to determine if there is the same amount of food on a plate as it always sees. When there is, it processes the action of eating the same as if you were eating off the dinner plate.

The easiest way to start eating healthy is to eat the foods you like. If you are not a vegetable person, then look for healthy foods that have the same vitamin and nutrient content in a food that is not green. When you are comfortable with a certain food, then expand your eating to try new foods. A reason that many healthy diets don’t work is that people try to force themselves to eat things they really don’t like. For success to be sustainable you need to remove all of the old barriers and obstacles that made your diets fail. This means finding healthy alternatives you enjoy eating.

While eating five small meals a day doesn’t leave room for a lot of snacks, you want to have snacks available. Include fruits and vegetables in your snack compartment at work and in other activities. When you get hungry, eat a healthy alternative. In most cases, you may just want a bite of something sweet. In that case, eat a bite, not the whole thing. Just check with your sports personal trainer and they will notify you of your diet.
